Malaysia: Malaysia
Here are some pictures of our visit to the islands history to make you dream a little .....
Here's bungalow where we slept on the second island on which we went, Pulau Kapas, very nice, c is in the bungalow that the frog in the photo section animals had taken up residence in our bathroom.
Here is a picture to show you how the rise in Malaysian palm trees to pick coconuts, no need to scale, they bend their feet and climb ... very very much! Gwen and I tries but can not climb more than one meter .... then we glided
The beautiful beaches ...
The islands in Malaysia are all not very large and still rather natural on some beaches and bungalows were built as well as shops to accommodate tourists but other beaches are pristine and generally the interior of the islands too, so there are beaches on the edges and the jungle in the middle ... So remaining on an island you can go trekking or long depending on the size of the island in the jungle.
another track ... his name is long beach c ...
Now that you've seen some beautiful pictures can tell you about our stay on the islands discomfort. We first went to the smaller beaches Kecil, the smaller islands perhantian, in northeast Malaysia then we went to Pulau Kapas, a little further south, an even smaller island, 2km long and 1km wide!
These two islands being little or no tourism, so wild yet, we saw quite a few animals. In particular, we saw lizards (big lizards) 1m, 1.50m or even 2 meters ... very impressive but not dangerous at all, at least if we do not bother ... It s sometimes approached restaurants to eat leftovers that cooks roaring through the window behind.
We have also been attacked by monkeys, macaques more accurately. One day, right after noon, we were at our guest house (kind of cheap hotel ..) talking with the owner of the premises when We saw monkeys, a dozen coming in our direction. They began to overturn trash cans and dig in, swing from a bungalow and want to catch everything that was brilliant (and thus belonging to customers bungalows ... so moral: Do not leave trainer and firmly close the door and windows). The owner told us that they had to hunt or they would destroy everything and steal things. So we took long pieces of wood and we pat the ground doing a lot of noise to scare them. It has managed to chase them but only at the end of an hour, the monkeys were not at all No frightened, sometimes they began to run towards us, shaking their arms above their heads, grumbling, They then stopped aa s barely 2 meters from us showing teeth ... very aggressive! The owner then has previously explained that the monkeys do not ventured s up to the beaches, they remained in the jungle. Only last year the shop was kept in captivity a baby monkey for the amusement of tourists up a time that they're successful escape and c is now the monkey who became leader of the band of monkeys who comes regularly on beaches and was trying to attack us. This monkey had been accustomed to tourists, it na more afraid of men and he knows where to find food easily .....
In addition, we saw a snake (the one gwen almost walking), lots of huge bebete like a grasshopper giant, big spiders, big frogs ....
We also had the opportunity to go diving and snorkeling, c was a great experience! The sea water is much clearer here than at home, almost transparent in places, we had a very good visibility was thus able to see a bunch of colorful fish, unfortunately we do not know the names of all but we have seen between other clownfish (like Nemo), perrroquets fish, barracudas ...
On the second island where we went, Pulau Kapas, we really lived an extraordinary moment. The island is as you said the very small and not very touristy. In addition, we went there late February, which corresponds to the end monsoon let alone people! All this to tell you that we found on our arrival on the island that we were the only two tourists from all over the island! C was really a very funny situation, everyone was very caring for us, and we were the only two to bathe (the locals do not swim as we have AC and they said only when he was horribly hot ), so we had a private beach! In addition, the day after our arrival on the island there is s set to rain on the continent, a heavy rain storm with type storm, lightning and strong winds, we on the island there was nothing at all if n is a gray sky but on the coast c was very violent and it lasted several days. So all the routes boat with the island were cut for safety reasons and it s is found "stuck" on the island for 4 days. C was rather nice, being the only two tourists to the island for 5 days and then the coup there was not to supply food or oil. So we had to save the oil and electricity use at a minimum, the managers of our guest house fires were so every night on the beach as a light, they went so far as he was showering day for not having to turn light etc. ... Cote food, we had to walk every night on the island to find a place that still had supplies of food (few places have fridges so stores are never very large) to eat.
During these few days we have had the opportunity to meet a 10 year old boy who lives on the island. It tells us a little life, he must take a boat every morning to go to school on the coast al (c is the only child living on the island now al so no school!) And every night to return home him. During the monsoon it will live with his grandmother who lives on the coast so as not to be stuck on the island, but nobody had seen this storm coming, it s is found as we caught on the island in the impossibility of al go school.
You may think that he has a life of dream, live on an island inhabited bit, in a beautiful house on a private beach, was able to bathe in translucent blue waters or when he wants to walk in the jungle and see the snakes, monkeys and other exotic animals very easily ... C is that Gwen and I are first of all, said the boy but we quickly explained that on the contrary it No was not very happy on the island: it is all alone, no other children so he is bored, he sees the sea every day from na more once he too wanted to sy swim except when it gets too hot, it is s already walk in the jungle so that he knows by heart and that na more exotic or anything exciting for him and ultimately he dreams of something c is live on the coast in a city and you can see his friends a little more that al school and so he spends his time on the computer to play or talk with friends msn.
